Drawing at the NGV

Another class with Marco Luccio.

Today we drew "Port of Algiers - After the Storm" painted in 1932-34 by Albert Marquet.

The painting looks very simple - but oddly arranged. I was interested in the vertical and diagonal lines criss crossing in the composition.

Cokatoo Island

We took many photos of the old industrial areas on Cokatoo Island.

The history seemed to hang over the island like a veil.

I will use some of these images for my photography assignment.

Sydney Biennale

We had a wonderful 4 days in Sydney at the Biennale. I took mnay photos of Cockatoo Island where part of the bienneale was hosted.

The piece de resistance however was being spitting distance from th POPE.

Melbourne Art Fair

Saw a smorgasboard of art works at the Affordable Art Fair.

Liked in particular the work of Jason Benjamin ths picture here is "When you can't go it alone" (il Cucco, Sicily), 2005
